Girls with hair skills needed!?

Now, I'm a guy who basically has little idea how to style my longer hair (It's down to my cheeks) because I've had short hair all my life. What I normally do is just wash and condition my hair and allow it to air dry because I have naturally curly hair (not too curly) and it's quite thick. It looks good when it drys because it has nice thicker curls but here's the problem.

My hair is getting longer and I gotta do something else with it, whenever I brush it it gets frizzy and huge and it's hard to tame it because my hair is very thick.

One thing I wanted to do is part my hair and have it curl to either side but one side doesn't want to because of the way my hair grows. Similar to this picture...

Now girls, care to educate a guy on how to straighten, get rid of frizz, style or in general, how to take care of longer hair?

Ive Just Had my hair restyled and if your hair doesnt want to go over to a parting, you have to train it to.

every time you wash it. . .do the parting and brush it how you wnt it. . .maybe put a clip in it or something. when i first had mine done i put mousse in, then put a clip in it where i wanted the parting, and then loads of hairspray. i had it done just under 2 weeks ago and now it just naturally falls into the right place!

hope this helps?

You can tame your hair to part in the direction you want...(totally didnt mean for it to rhyme) but it might take some time. Everynight before you to go sleep...use a bobbi pin to clip the hair the way you want it to go....after about a week you wont need to clip it, your hair will naturally want to part that way.
