I have the type of curly hair where I can't get a brush through it without some kind of pain.

sorry id just use the straightners and spray protection on your hair so it doesnt get damaged

Use a straightner, its only temporary. Otherwise you would have to get a relaxer... which depending on your hair it may not take all the wave/curl out of your hair.

Doesn't everyone want to straighten without heat? There's this straightening balm from Frederic Fekkai. You just need a blow dryer and a brush...
