How can i get good quality hair extensions that don't cost a fortune?

I'm 15 and have never been able to grow my hair past my shoulders. I desperately want long hair. I've decided that I want extensions, although I have to pay for them. I don't want the cheap ones that come out after 2 months I want the ones that stay in for 1 - 1 and a half years min (pref). I also don't want it to be noticeable at ALL. I want to be able to brush it and put my fingers through it and feel nothing. Please Help... I'M DESPERATE!

I use the clip in extensions and love them. I bought mine at "Sally Beauty Supply". They are real human hair and custom fitted. The cost....a whopping 40 bucks. Buy the ones that do not have the clips. The staff will help you match your color. Then buy 9 to 12 clips (1.99 for three) do not buy their thread. Regular thread works just fine.

When you get home, section off your hair where you want the extension to be placed. Measure the length needed and cut that amount off your hair piece (it comes as one long sheet of hair). Sew in clips as needed. I use 3 on each section. I put one section near the base of my hair line. One midway up my head and one as high as I can get it and still cover the clips. Make sure when you are fitting the pieces that the clips do not all sit on the same place of your head or you will have a bump.

After you fit your extensions and sew in clips, you are ready to put them in. Part your hair out the same way, working on one section at a time. In the spot the middle clip goes, rat or back comb the hair to make a snarl. Spray the snarl with a firm hold spray like Paul Mitchell Freeze and Shine. Place and secure the clip. Repete for each clip for that piece. Move to the next area being sure to blend each as you apply.

The ratting technique will ensure that your clips do not slip or come out until you are ready for them to come out. I wear mine daily from the time I get ready in the morning till I go to bed at night. I work long hours and have never had a problem with them becoming loose or noticable. No one knows it isn't my real hair unless I tell them. The ONLY down fall is that you can feel the the clips if you pet my head.

I'm 15 too...I have 100 percent human hair extensions that were bonded individually with keratin wax, they aren't even noticable...it looks like my real hairl. You could NEVER tell. They are pricey though...about 900-1,000 dollars.

BUT a good alternative to that is clip in extensions, Jessica Simpson and Beyonce wear them, and I believe Jessica Simpson has her own line. You get them clipped in by a hair dresser so they are placed just right and blended so you don't notice them...if you get human hair, you can dye them, curl them, straighten them, wash them in the shower...and they don't come out unless you want them too. They're about 200-300 dollars. They look awesome! You can get curly ones or straight ones.

I dont think there are any hair extensions that last for a year, because as your hair grows the hair extensions grow out. I have the best type of hair extensions out there and they only last 6 months, but you can take them out and re-use them one more time without having to buy new hair.

Also I can brush mine and put my fingers through mine just fine. :)

I had hair extensions a few months ago and they worked great for me. i bought mine at a store called "Sally Beauty Supply." they were around $30 but the price varies by how long they are. mine were 18" and they higher they go, the more expensive they get. i highly recomend getting glue-in kind though because clip-on's are terrible and they fall out very easily. you can find them at almost ANY beauty supply store in your area. good luck %26amp; hope i helped!

I think your best bet are clip in hair extensions. You can order them on line and put them in yourself at home

Jessica Simpson has a line, but I think you can find extensions that are just as good a quality for less of a price. Her line is a little expensive and I think you are only really paying for the name.
