alright i got like 30 barbies that were in a box in my closet. (i collected when i was a child) the hair on over half of them were tangled badly. so stupidly i brushed them out and now their hair is frizzy. i havent tried ne thing considering i'm scared of the outcome. i need to know what the best thing to do is. some one told me that lotion would help but i'm still not sure.

lotion will help with frizz.

Don't try lotion lol because it will make the hair sticky and hard but I would suggest a starightener lol I know it sounds weird but it works.

whatever you do don't use a straitener/hair dryer because it's not like they have real hair if you do that, their hair will melt. i suggest that you wash their hair with water and hand soap, that worked for me once. it stinks when you have a barbie with curly hair because you can never brush thair hair or else it will get frizzy and ugly.

No no - brushing them out was exactly right!
If you want to return them to their original styling - Wet the head down with cool or lukewarm water, section the hair into small pieces and brush/comb the curls (I'm assuming curls) around your fingers (or a straw) until it looks the way you want it - then leave it alone. Don't brush it after it's dried.
Detanglers are only if you can't get the brush through it to begin with - they won't really help with the frizzies much. (please don't use lotion, it won't hurt the synthetic fiber, but it won't do a bit of good either - you'll just have to wash the hair again) You CAN coat the hair in hair gel if you want - it will help it hold all those curls - but, and then again, it will attract dust too....
If you want to straighten the hair - sit the completely combed out barbie in the sink and pour barely boiling water over her head for about 10 seconds and then immediately rinse in cold water - you'll end up with perfectly straight shiny hair.

Getting friz out of my barbie's hair?
Brushing was a good idea, i have lots of experience with Barbie doll.
Here are what you should NEVER do:
Use any type of hair straightner.
Use chemicals on the hair.
Brush too hard.
And don't try anything heated like a hair straightner or electric curling iron, it will melt/burn the hair.
--------------------------------------...
HERE IS WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW THAT THE TANGLES ARE OUT:
For straightening hair, simply poor (freshly) boiled water over it, if this doesn't work, you can try putting conditioner in, combing it thru and rinsing it with boiled water. Repeat this several times for the best results. This usually also works for frizzy hair.
Flattening hair or bangs can be accomplished by cutting a ring from a zip-lock bag (or something similar) to fit around Barbie's head. Hold the head with the ring above steam (watch out for yourself, steam hurts!) for about 30 seconds, then let it airdry. Remove the ring and the hair is flat.
--------------------------------------...
Straightening / defrizzing hair
Poor a bit of boiling water in a sink, so you can let it flush away easily when you're done.
--------------------------------------...
Lay the hair of the doll in the boiling hot water. Gently comb thru it with a fine comb, the finer the comb, the prettier the end result. If the hair is a little coarse, you can put in some conditioner (as simple as possible, you don't need natural care or something like that for synthetic hair). Comb thru the hair several times. If the water isn't hot enough anymore, pour in some new boiling water and repeat the combing until the hair is as stright as it's going to be or until you are satisfied. Not all frizzed hair will become totally smooth again, so if you don't see any more progress, it's time to quit.
--------------------------------------...
Fixate the hair by holding it under streaming cold water after you're done combing, do this for about 30-60 seconds to get the best result.
--------------------------------------...
Fixate it definitely and work out excess frizz by blowdrying the hair and combing it with the same comb you used in the hot water. Keep the blowdryer at a distnace of at least 15 cm to prevent the hair from burning or use a simple travelling blowdryer (these are less powerful and also less hot).
Good luck!
